SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AFFILIATES

Building business relationships in support of non-profit missions! Read about Bell's exciting affiliations with Auction Inn York and Re-Stor-York; follow the links to see more of the individual operations.

Auction Inn York

With their trademarked brand and “best in industry” online marketing procedures, Auction Inn York was founded in 2006 in collaboration with Bell to provide individuals, businesses, manufacturers and charitable organizations with an inlet to the powerful eBay marketplace.  This valuable service is just the beginning, however, of their equation for success.

Through Auction Inn York, qualified Bell consumers can participate in an intensive training program to learn the ins and outs of the online auction business. Successful completion of the training leads directly to hands on, competitive jobs utilizing their new skills in photography, creating and entering dynamic listings, maintaining inventory, and all aspects of shipping.

Two ways to support Bell through Auction Inn York:

1)  Turn your stash into cash. Helpful listing agents will research your items to see how much you might expect to make on the sale. A portion of each item sold through Auction Inn York goes to Bell.

2)   Donate your items directly to Bell at Auction Inn York and receive a charitable donation form for your tax records. Bell will receive full proceeds from the sale of these items.

The Auction Inn York store is located at 405 Carlisle Avenue (across from the York Fairgrounds) and is open six days a week to receive items. Phone: 717-718-8020.

Re-Stor-York

Opened in Spring 2002, Re-Stor-York is a home improvement store managed through the collaboration of Bell Socialization Services, Inc. and York Habitat for Humanity.

While Re-Stor-York’s goals include providing a retail outlet for low cost home improvement materials, and thereby recycling these items to avoid increased landfill waste, the business also provides year-end funds to help the sponsoring organizations meet their individual missions.

Another key component of the Re-Stor-York operation is providing employment to low income disabled persons – primarily Bell consumers – to help develop vocational and socialization skills. Some of these employees have become long term members of the store team; others have successfully transitioned into other work environments.

What you’ll find at Re-Stor-York is room upon warehouse-size room of everything from imported ceramic tiles, whirlpool tubs and pallets of brick pavers to windows, doors, vintage lighting fixtures and boxes of screws. While many of the items are brought to the store by local manufacturers and contractors, anyone can buy from the large, ever-changing assortment.
